2009 Festivals and other events

October 31, 2009   Trick or Treat Downtown  Historic Main Street Merchants will be hosting a pumpkin decorating contest under the pavilion at the Robert Reed Waterfront Park for contestants of all ages from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.  Upon completion of decorating all pumpkins will be placed on the steps of the Island Library and will be judged at 7:00 p.m.  The library will be hosting a DVD party right after the pumpkin judging.  Children may also Trick or Treat at area downtown merchants displaying a pumpkin decal in their windows from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Attendees must be in costume

November 7 & 8, 2009   Holiday Craft Shopping Extravaganza    Shop until you drop at the Chincoteague Center.

November 21 – 28, 2009  Assateague Island Waterfowl Week    Held at the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge an open house with special events and programs.

November 27-28, 2009   23rd Annual Deborah Waterfowl Show and Auction    Carvers and Artists display the work for competition and sale.

Dec 5, 2009   Chincoteague Old-Fashioned Christmas Parade     Floats, bands, Fire Companies from all around the Eastern Shore, plus a special visit from Santa.

Annual Bridal and Prom Expo at the Chincoteague Community Center 6155 Community Dr.

Death by Chocolate pick up a game card from any participating merchants with DBC poster. Follow store trail to eat sweet treats and answer questions on your game card. Turn in your card that evening to be in a drawing for lots of prizes! This event is a blast not to be missed. . .sponsored by Historic Main Street Merchants.
